20th January - married his first wife, Anne of Bohemia

Michael de la Pole, the Chancellor, is impeached

Robert de Vere is defeated at Radcot Bridge

‘Merciless Parliament’ excutes some members of Richard’s Government

1389

Richard began to reign in his own right

1394

Anne of Bohemia died

1396

Richard signed a truce with France

1397

Richard took revenge on the Lords Appellant

1398

Richard exiled the Duke of Norfolk and Henry Bolingbroke

1399

Richard claimed Bolingbroke’s lands and left for Ireland

30th September Richard abdicated

14th February - Richard died at Pontefract Castle and is buried at King’s Langley
